Visitors´ experience of the installation
Konstnärshuset,
Stockholm,
May 2011
I
read
about the exhibition
and
followed
the project from
a distance
for some time and
that was
my
only
contact with
the objects
so far.
I
was
not expecting
this experience
when I
went
behind the curtain
into the dark
little room.
That
I suddenly would get such a deep poetic dialogue within myself.
It started with my own inner darkness and quickly I experienced my own different personalities that emerged, especially myself as a child, embraced, cared for and loved. The arrangement of the figures was clear in focus - an object that was embraced by the same objects that moved smoothly and peacefully as during a night's sleep. It was like experiencing your own soul´s healing process, the build-up of new life energy and it became significantly stronger when the objects' inner light grew to an increasingly stronger and stronger force.
Thank you StillAlive that I recieved this beautiful,
peaceful
and loving contact
with
my inner self today.
I needed that.

Event
We enter the darkened room, in front of our feet peacefully sleeping little men
visible to us, they are scattered across the floor near each other but yet so
alone. What is this, how can we see them, are there any lights in the ceiling?
No, we do not see any lights, above us is darkness. But where does the light
come from? Is it a miracle, do they glow from within?
We sit down on a bench in the dark room and watch. The tiny bodies lit for us and they make us think. We decide to take one of the sleepers out of the darkness. To make it as gently as possible, we kneel down and take out a soft cotton shawl that we lay out under the glowing figure. We carefully wrap it in the fabric that is quite delicate. And for a while, we see the glow from inside the small package that surrounds him. He is placed safely in our waterproof red bag.
We feel happy and comfortable. To walk out with the glowing sleeping man in the
bag. Entering the strong sunlight, walking through the crowds, passing the buses
and cars. We carry him gently all the way to the park.
People we meet let their eyes remain on us and our bag. They understand that we
carry something special, they are curious, maybe a little scared.
Could it be ...
And we pass all those wondering eyes, towards the great elms that are so
beautiful and the soft green lawn.
There, in the middle of the lawn, we place the bag, open up the wrapping.
Carefully, slowly, we unfold the little man and let him continue his sleep in
the middle of the green. People who see what our bag contains can now relax.
There was no bomb this time either. I think he will glow in the night.
We see him in the dark and we become enlighted.
